Indian cinema rarely dives into folklore-driven supernatural thrillers with such ambition, and Lokah dares to build its own dark universe. Blending myth, action, crime, and horror, the film creates a layered story that goes beyond just entertainment. it feels like the start of something bigger.


The Story That Hooks You

The film opens in a war-torn city, where Chandra retrieves a mysterious package, narrowly escaping from the agents of Ishtar. Fast forward to the present: Chandra is summoned from Sweden to Bangalore, where fate makes her cross paths with Sunny Kurian, an unemployed graduate, and his group of friends.

She seems like just another night-shift worker, quiet and distant. But when her co-worker is attacked, Chandra reveals her supernatural strength hinting that she isn’t ordinary.

Crime Meets the Supernatural

At the same time, the city hides a grim reality: an organ trafficking network, run by the ruthless crime boss Gajendran, thriving under police protection. Inspector Nachiyappa begins investigating Chandra, but things take a turn when she is kidnapped.

What follows is the film’s shocking reveal Chandra transforms into a yakshi, tearing her attackers apart. Her true identity? Kalliyankattu Neeli, a legendary vampire once recruited by the mystical Kadamattathu Kathanar to serve Moothon, a shadowy guardian of balance.

Sunny accidentally stumbles upon this terrifying scene and faints, his life forever changed.

The Rise of Enemies

As the story deepens, even Inspector Nachiyappa begins transforming into a yaksha. A deadly government-backed strike involving the Garuda Force brings the supernatural war into the open. In a spectacular climax, Chandra battles Nachiyappa, ultimately defeating him but chooses to vanish underground, promising to return only when needed.

The Universe Expands

The movie doesn’t stop at its finale. A mid-credits scene introduces Charlie, a ninja-like Odiyan, who ruthlessly wipes out the trafficking ring. The post-credits scene teases something even bigger: the goblin Chathan being interrogated about an ancient cave expedition tied to his origins.

Clearly, Lokah is not just a standalone film it’s setting up an entire mythical cinematic universe.
